To extend an olive branch is to extend the hand of peace and love.

Here at Olive Branch Fostering, we don’t just extend the hand of peace – we use it to connect and bring together children in need, with the foster carers and families who welcome them with open arms.

Working with communities across the North of England, we represent and work for both the children and teenagers in foster care, and the families and individuals who are able to open their homes to foster placements. This gives us the privileged position of being able to identify truly beneficial placements and matches – focussing on placing young people in the best environment to meet their needs and support their growth.

Offering a diverse range of foster placement types, we work with young people of all ages and backgrounds – often removing them from abusive or problematic home lives as we seek to give them the chance of a better life.

But we couldn’t do it without the ongoing commitment of our loyal and ever-growing network of foster carers.

When you become a foster carer with Olive Branch Fostering, you receive end-to-end support from initial application through to your first, fifth, and fiftieth placement. We recognise that fostering is, for many carers and families, a journey that lasts a lifetime – turbulent with challenges and rewards, highs, and lows. And while we understand that every foster placement is unique, and that every foster family has their own approach and boundaries, our training and support team are here to make sure that you feel confident and empowered every step of the way.

Some of the main placement types that we offer here at Olive Branch Fostering include:

  •       Single placements
  •       Respite care and short-term placements
  •       Long term arrangements
  •       Siblings
  •       Step down fostering – our version of therapeutic care

With each of these fostering types offering its own challenges and obstacles, we offer an unmatched range of training opportunities for foster carers from all walks of life – empowering you to invest in your own learning and become the best surrogate parent you can be.

Foster carers are many things to many people.

To us, you’re the heroes who help us to help thousands of children every year.

To our community, you’re part of a growing network.

To them, you’re home.

Could you open your heart and your home to a child who needs a fresh start and a safe space to call home? If you’ve got a spare room and an open heart, then you could be the perfect match for a young person seeking a placement.
