I have a foster child with me – what is the process?

Submit a written notice of intent to transfer to your fostering service provider via post or email. A meeting will be arranged involving your current agency or local authority social worker, placing authority social worker for any foster children in your care, Olive Branch manager and yourselves. During the meeting, we will discuss the best interests of the child, any support needs for the child and yourselves, the fees and finances and a timetable of what will be happening in the following weeks.

We will do our assessment, which is usually much quicker than the first time you were assessed, and then our panel will make a recommendation. You will then submit your 28-day resignation to your current agency, after which you will be an Olive Branch Foster Carer!

I don’t have any children with me right now – what is the process?

Submit a written notice of intent to transfer fostering service to your agency/council via post or email. You will be allocated an Olive Branch social worker who will complete your assessment, which is often completed much in less time than the first time you were approved. Then our panel will make a recommendation. You will then submit your 28 day resignation, after which you will be an Olive Branch foster carer!
