We are delighted to announce that Olive Branch Fostering were named finalists at the Lancashire County Council RISE (Recognising Innovation, Skills and Excellence) Awards 2025, in the prestigious Children’s Social Care Provider of the Year category.
This recognition holds special significance for us, as Olive Branch were the first local authority fostering service ever to be nominated for a RISE Award. It’s an achievement that not only reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team but also highlights the strong partnership we’ve built with Lancashire County Council and our community of carers.
Our journey to the finals began with a nomination from Aatiqah Bhayat, who recognised the ongoing effort, professionalism, and compassion that underpin everything we do. The RISE Awards celebrate those who go above and beyond to make a real difference in children’s lives, and we are incredibly proud to be counted among such inspiring nominees.
Following the event, the Awards Team shared the following about Olive Branch Fostering, which we were honoured to pass on to our team and supporters:
“Their name is synonymous with professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine care. They are always there, ready to explore young people, provide updates on upcoming carers, and ensure that every child’s needs are met with thoughtfulness and urgency.
What sets them apart is their consistency. Whether it’s the fifth call of the day or a discussion needed regarding a young person with complex needs, they respond with patience, clarity, and a can-do attitude. Their team is approachable, collaborative, and deeply committed to building strong, strategic relationships that benefit children and families.
They don’t just meet expectations, they exceed them. They communicate openly about challenges, work proactively to find solutions, and always keep the child at the centre of every decision.
They are a team that listens, adapts, and delivers, not just once, but every time. Their ability to balance professionalism with warmth, and strategy with compassion, makes them a standout in the fostering community.
Well done Olive Branch Fostering.”
These words mean the world to us. They reflect exactly what Olive Branch strives to achieve each day: a balance of care, professionalism, and collaboration that ensures every child receives the support they deserve.
Although we didn’t take home the top award this year, being recognised as finalists in such a respected event is a tremendous honour. It is a testament to the passion, teamwork, and unwavering dedication of our carers, staff, and partners who make Olive Branch what it is today.
As our Director, Joanne, says:
We would like to express our thanks to Lancashire County Council for this recognition, to Aatiqah for the thoughtful nomination, and to every member of team Olive Branch for their continued commitment to excellence.
Together, we’ll continue to raise the standard for fostering in Lancashire, one child, one family, and one act of care at a time.
